The present seat of world government is situated in New York City. It is called the United Nations Organization.
The financial center of the nation is seated in New York City, as is the headquarters of the nation's Central Bank, the Federal Reserve Bank.
All major television networks have their base in New York and the advertising industry is likewise headquartered there.
Washington DC may be the seat of the Federal Government, but the head of this great beast we call the United States of America, is located in New York City, New York.
It is a notable spiritual signature, that in the same area sits a city named, Babylon.
There has been a great deal of speculation as to the identity of Babylon in the end days.
A number of prophecy minded Christians, believe that the United States of America closely resembles that nation mentioned by the prophets of old.
Yet others refuse to accept such a notion, even as the image of the goddess of Babylon sits conspicuously in New York harbor.
Many mainstream Christians have accepted a number of scripturally unsupported doctrines, which lead them to believe that America is not mentioned in Bible prophecy.
Some expect to be "raptured" before any destruction of "Babylon the Great" might occur.
The reader is encouraged to compare the scriptures related to this end time nation, and make their own determination, based upon the scriptures, coupled with an examination of contemporary America.

Interesting perspective Craig!
Only if you want it to be.
It's like looking at a grilled cheese and seeing the Mother Mary or something. Personal perspective. Personal interpretation.
Most people are too spiritually blind to see any further than themselves unfortunately.
If you spend all your time with your nose in a book looking for "signs", you're going to fall into the pit as well because you were not paying attention to where you where walking.
It takes observation of self, not just book learning.
Until you know yourself, knowing anything about "God" is impossible.

"She will be attacked by nuclear weaponry (Revelation 18:8)."
Hahahaha, how do you expect to be taken seriously?
Thank you Judy.
@xenon,
I see the same phenomena from the opposite side. Those who refuse to consider a possibility, cannot be persuaded. If you spend all your time refusing to see the signs, you will not see them. If so, the blindness is not for lack of signs, but for lack of desire or willingness to believe that they exist.
If one spends all their time looking at themselves, they will likewise, fall into a pit. If the sign says pit ahead and the individual refuses to see it or consider it, that individual will fall prey to it if it does indeed exist. The sign cannot be blamed for an individuals willful ignorance to take heed to it.
I trust Gods Word. I can look back upon my personal experience and see that it is true. My personal experience and observation validates what the Bible says.
@?,
Why would I care if I am taken seriously or not? I bear witness. Its none of my business what others may think of it.
I expect that New York City will be destroyed as is said of that mighty city Babylon the Great in Revelation 18. Imagine if I had said 10 years ago that the World Trade Center would be destroyed. Your comment would most likely have been the same then as it is now. After the fact, you would doubtless say it was coincidence. Skepticism is like that.
I would not want to be anywhere near New York City on July the 4th. I would expect to see it destroyed on or around that date, perhaps not this year. I expect that on or near July 4th 2011, it will be destroyed. If it is not, I remain confident that it will happen in time. Sooner than later.
NYC is Babylon the Great and she will be destroyed by fire. Mock on if you must. Enjoy the time you have left by pursuing whatever your heart and flesh desires to enjoy.
The US certainly seems to fit the bill. And i dont why people laugh at USA being attacked by nuclear weapons. Its the same as the Babalonions laughing & having a party whilst being beseiged by the Persians.
@JOHN RIDLEY,
An astute observation. This is another example of how America fits the Babylonian mold. That's another reason why I would not be too amazed to see a July 4th destruction. Babylon celebrated her defeat by holding a huge party.
Looks correct to me.....
X is any place your not?

The original Babylon was in Iraq. Babylon, according to a Dictionary, means, "Confusion of languages, meanings", which points to the tower of Babal in Iraq. Saddam had put a note on the tower challenging God. The US won the war in 4 days. 4 symbollically represents God. Babylon, by dictionary, also means, "impracticable scheme".
Testing...
I also trust Gods Word and I too, can look back upon personal experience and see that it is true. My personal experience and observation also validates what the Bible says. I was reading Revelations Chpt. 17 & 18 over ten years ago when the Holy Spirit revealed to me that America was and is Mystery Babylon and I agree that New York is the head, with her pagan goddess statue of "Liberty". I also believe in the catching away of those few counted worthy to escape all the coming horrors ("rapture") because the Bible fully supports it. (However, I don't believe that the majority of "churchianity" will be raptured because they are part of the Harlot that rides the Beast. Only those who have heard the Spirit's call to "Come our of her My people..." Rev 18:4 and have separated themselves to Christ and who "praying always that they might be counted worthy to ESCAPE ALL these things that are coming to pass and to stand before the Son of Man (who is in HEAVEN at the right hand of God)!
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Revelation 3:10: Because you have kept the word of My patience, I also will keep you from the hour of trial that will come upon the whole world, to test those that are ON THE EARTH.
The blind truly leading the blind. So many cannot or will not see.Israel was a Harlot before so why not now? Babylon has all the earmarks of the U.S.A. and Revelations is apocalyptic. All those marrying and giving in marriage, life just goes on but guess again for God will not be mocked.
