Barack Obama's Easter address

On Saturday, April 3, 2010, President Barack Obama delivered to the world what has been called his “Easter address.” In this religiously themed monologue, he issued a number of statements which signify his spiritual perspective. As any discerning believer might imagine, his perspective is at odds with that set forth in God’s Word.

The difference between Barack Obama’s faith and the Bible

Using the occasion of the Pagan celebration dedicated to the goddess Ishtar, he praised the spirit of this world over the Holy Spirit of God.

In reference to the Passover he made the statement:

On Monday and Tuesday nights, Jewish families and friends in the United States and around the world gathered for a Seder to commemorate the Exodus from Egypt and the triumph of hope and perseverance over injustice and oppression.

Barack Obama - April 3, 2010 Easter address

His ignorance of the fact that the Passover is not a solely Jewish observance can be overlooked, given the fact that most mainstream Christians are likewise ignorant.

What cannot be overlooked is the fact that, far from commemorating a “triumph of hope and perseverance over injustice and oppression,” it represented the Judgement of a righteous God over a heathen nation which oppressed his people and their release from bondage from the same.

The President also stated:

And while we worship in different ways, we also remember the shared spirit of humanity that inhabits us all – Jews and Christians, Muslims and Hindus, believers and nonbelievers alike.

Barack Obama - April 3, 2010 Easter address

The Bible tells us that as believers in Jesus Christ, that we have no share in any spirit of humanity which is the spirit of this world but that we are of the Spirit of God:

1st Corinthians 2:12

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

James 4:4

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

 President Obama further posited:

So, on this Easter weekend, let us hold fast to those aspirations we hold in common as brothers and sisters, as members of the same family – the family of man.

Barack Obama - April 3, 2010 Easter address

The Christian's Bible tells us that we are not of the "family of man" but of the family of God:

Ephesians 3:14-15

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named

The President continued his disingenuous digression by alluding to the creation of “a substantial number of jobs” which he presumably expected the American people would credit to his “leadership.” Few consider that the only jobs he can take credit for is the 16,500 new IRS jobs which will be needed to further squeeze the American taxpayers as a result of the highly unpopular health care bill which has been forced down the throats of the American people against their will. I addition, there will be a few temporary jobs created for purposes of Census taking.

Obama continued stumping for his health care bill in a left handed fashion, and then made the statement that:

Our health is the rock upon which our lives are built, for better and for worse.

Barack Obama - April 3, 2010 Easter address

Barack Obama’s rock may well be his heath. That rock will decay and crumble in the course of time. The believers Rock Is Christ, our Lord and our God.

Deuteronomy 32:31:

For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges

2nd Samuel 22:32:

For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

Deuteronomy 32:4

He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he

2nd Samuel 22:2-3:

And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

2nd Samuel 22:47:

The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

The believers Rock is the Rock of Israel

Psalms 18:2-3

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

Psalms 18:31:

For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?

Psalms 18:46:

The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

Psalms 31:3  speaks not of the government, Obama’s health care plan or even our personal health, it speaks of our God:

For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.

Of God alone it is said:

Psalms 62:2:

He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

Psalms 62:6-7:

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Of our brethren who were redeemed from bondage in the Passover Exodus, we are told:

1st Corinthians 10:4

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

The believers hope is not in any vision of a “New World Order” nor any unity of the same. Our hope is in Christ Jesus.

The claim that the new healthcare law entails hiring 16,500 new IRS agents to enforce it is blatantly false.

    Per Factcheck: factcheck.org/2010/03/irs-expansion/

“IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman testified before a hearing of the House Ways and Means Committee March 25 that the IRS won’t be auditing individuals to certify that they have obtained health insurance….the bill signed into law (on page 131) specifically prohibits the IRS from using the liens and levies commonly used to collect money owed by delinquent taxpayers, and rules out any criminal penalties for individuals who refuse to pay the tax or those who don’t obtain coverage. That doesn’t leave a lot for IRS enforcers to do.”

The 16,000 or 16,500 figure is arrived at by piling ridiculous on top of a poor reading skills.

"I heard Obama say that he was a Muslim"

Out of curiosity, do you have a source for this?

That is why we ought to pray for our leaders, those who are in authority over us in the land. We're not to judge or condem. For they who are without Christ is already judged. Our prayer for our President is the hope of God's Will Be Done on behalf of our President, his family and all of those who hold high offices that has jurisdiction over us and our nation. Our prayer should include: proverbs 4:7 "in all thy getting, get understanding." We pray for God's Wisdom to be shed abroad in our president's heart.
