Happy Boy Farms cauliflower
You’d probably forgotten that you missed fresh cauliflower until you started to see it again along the leading edge of fall produce.
Last week, only Happy Boy Farms had cauliflower. This week, great snowy heads of cauliflower are everywhere, keeping company with fresh pears (just coming into season) and fresh tomatoes (headed out).
Some of the cauliflower are huge, others, smaller, but that’s the way it is with organic produce; it’s not standardized, so you get it when it’s ready.
Prices aren’t varying much from vendor to vendor, and when you factor in the varying size of the heads, it’s pretty much a wash on price. So,choose the cauliflower that speaks to you. Also, prices vary from week to week, so use these a a guideline only.
- Happy Boy Farms, $2.00/pound.

Cooking cauliflower: steam it, boil it, stir fry it (if you have a great deal of patience), or roast it.
