With all the outdoor events available in summer, it's the perfect time to wear fragrance!

In an open-air environment, fragrance can add subtle but fluid ambiance. Outside, fragrance is the most gracious, most forgiving and can be absolutely beautiful on a breeze! Too much or too many different fragrances indoors can be overpowering, effect people's allergies, and can be just a plain nuisance if those who don't like it are forced to share in it. If you do wear fragrance indoors, make sure you don't over-spritz or over-power with a strong scent.

All that said, a dainty hint of fragrance for ladies or dash for men, can bring a smile to passersby, or an extra glint to eyes of love.

For those of you who enjoy fragrance, what's the best way to find the right one for yourself or your mate? There are a few standards that you can always start with, then experiment from there.

A fresh start for light fragrances can be citrus, lavender or tropical floral based. Medium fragrances can include the stronger floral scents of honeysuckle or jasmine, hints of amber or the specificness of a vanilla based fragrance. For those who relish in abandon, try variations of sandalwoods, the depth of musks or for those who love the florals, the passion of rose.

There are so many combinations and variations of fragrance available, sometimes it takes trying a few to find the one you love. When testing fragrances, remember, don't layer them! If you can, try to spritz one directly on your wrist from a short distance, meaning try only two at a time. Let the fragrance settle, then wear it around and see how it blends with your skin and natural oils. A fragrance will always have a different scent on your skin, than on a paper sample.
