GreenFEST is this weekend! Saturday August 14th in Downtown Walnut Creek! The event goes from 10am-4pm. Come down to the CCAR Parking lot at 1870 Olympic blvd and take part in the fun.
This FREE event will feature organic food, music, educational demos, e-waste receptacles, a garden center and kids’ zone. Come get educated about going green and enter to win multiple prizes.
While you are in the “Green” spirit, don’t forget to think about how you recycle when it comes to your beauty product containers as well. Yes, you can do a great deed by putting your empty products in the brown trash container verses the blue one OR you bring your empties into your local shopping center and cash them in for more products!
MAC cosmetics offers a Back 2 Mac recycling program that allows you to trade 6 full size empty MAC containers for a new lipstick or eye shadow. You can mail them in or redeem them at your local store or counter. Full program details are here.
Those who use products other than MAC can recycle too. Your local Origins Beauty counter will take makeup containers, shampoo bottles, and more from any beauty brand and give you some Origins product samples to use in return. Full details.
