Celebrity makeup artist Raychel Wade debuts La Prairie's fall cosmetics collection at Saks

It may be mid-July, but according to beauty insiders, it’s already time to start thinking about your fall colors. Raychel Wade, a celebrity makeup artist and La Prairie brand ambassador, is taking the guesswork out of transitioning your beauty look from summer to fall with one-on-one consultations at Saks Fifth Avenue. Beloved for her “real woman” approach to makeup, Wade helps clients suss out which colors work for their skin tone and complexion, and which colors don’t.

In addition to sharing her expertise, Wade will also be previewing La Prairie’s new fall color palette, Plumage de Nuit. Wade says, “When the weather is hot and we’re barefaced with tanks and flops, a dash of creamy blush, gloss and mascara is fine. But when the weather turns cool, it’s time to bring color back into your routine.”

Plumage de Nuit celebrates the season with eye shadow quads featuring rich chocolate browns, bright blues and warm lilacs. If peacock lids have you running for the nearest neutral, Wade says, “Take part in the trend without changing your look by using the blue as an eyeliner.” Simply take a fine-tipped brush, “dip it in your more daring color and tickle it into your lash line.” She adds, "It’s a nice shot of color but it’s still a daytime look.”

For lips, Wade is loving La Prairie’s berry-stained bordeaux lipsticks, which she says are “perfect with a gray or winter-white cashmere sweater." In the fall and winter, Wade advises women to "seek out shades that make you look like you’ve just come in from a brisk walk in the cold.” Before you know it, you’ll be trading in that string bikini for snow boots.
