After months of silence, Rihanna has finally come out about her abusive situation with Chris Brown. What many have speculated as an off and on again relationship; Rihanna sets the record straight on her relationship with Chris and her views on domestic abuse.
Rihanna was reported to be very revealing, both in Glamour Magazine and on 20/20 where a multi part interview was conducted by Diane Sawyer. The last part of the interview is scheduled to air on ABC, Friday, Nov. 6th at 10pm.
Rihanna mentions remorsefully and humbly that in many ways she was blinded by love. Allowing herself to remain in an abusive relationship. But after the last abusive encounter was made so public, Rihanna truly realized the impact that she had on so many young girls. " I don't want to be responsible for any young girl dying..." Rihanna told Sawyer. Rihanna conveyed to Sawyer that staying in an abusive relationship is not worth possibly dying over it "F love... and look at the situation as a third party to see it for what it really is", says Rihanna. Rihanna reported that it was "humiliating" and "traumatizing" to admit that she had been beaten by Brown. But as she now realizes, her testimony will help millions of young women get out of abusive relationships!
On average, more than three women a day are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends in the U.S. In 2008, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention published data from 2005, finding that women experience two million injuries from intimate partner violence every year.
This issue is once again being brought to the surface and Rihanna is the current poster child. With the anticipation of the release of Rihanna's new album, which is expected to have a lot of personal songs related to her recent trauma, fans will connect to Rihanna in a way they never have before.

Wow. Thats all I have to say.
I think people can really relate to her experience, more women go through this than what you would think.
Great article! One thing I do know, she is about to sell alot of records! Real Talk or Real Advertisement?
I actually watched a part of her interview on abc this morning.. I do sympathise with her plight but I share Brandons sentiments...about it being partly advertisment
Just got done watching this and I feel for her. It's never right for anyone to touch you that way. Is it a publicity stunt for her new album? The timing would have you wondering that...however, I do think her speaking out on domestic abuse is beneficial!
@ Stac - I wondered about the timing of the album release as well. Why now? But I guess, if nothing else it is smart. If she has decided to encourage other women to get out of abusive relationships by showing that she is done with Chris on national television, why not use it to her benefit? For the most part the interview seemed very real and heartfelt.
I recently watched her interview on 20/20, it was very heartfelt and genuine. I could feel her pain. I have much respect for her speaking out and not letting Chris back into her life. I wish her the best in her career. Great article!
rihanna you are a good but i no you still love chris and he still love you but you play the game to not just him so stop thinking he just did wrong by you because you did wrong too he is still a good man and he still have fans
