Okay, we all have done it. There are always times when we need to run to the store or down the street and just don’t feel like going through the trouble of putting makeup on. That is usually every weekend for me as I do make an effort for work days. Next time you need to run out of the house without makeup, consider this:
1. Be careful of the sun:
The rays of the sun can potentially change the look of your skin. A sunburn or even a tan indicates your skin has been damaged, and sun damage causes your skin to age. Ultraviolet light from the sun breaks down collagen and elastin, causing wrinkling and sagging. The sun also can make skin rough and can overstimulate pigment cells, causing brown spots. A daily sunscreen or foundation with an SPF 15 or above should help. .
2. Don’t forget the environmental factors:
Pimples or blemishes on the skin are mostly the result of clogged pores due to dust in the air. Certain skincare products can help. For example, Vitamin E helps relieve itching. It is also believed that pollutants in the air strips away some of the natural Vitamin A in the skin. Other pollutants such as carbon monoxide can deplete nutrients from the skin and leads to premature aging. The use of a good tinted moisturizer that hydrates the skin and protects it from environmental damage should help.
3. If you look good, you feel good
Wearing make can make you feel pretty. Some women wear makeup because it gives them confidence. The first thing a person usually notices is a woman's face. If applied correctly, a woman often feels confident and self-assured. This doesn’t mean that she couldn’t feel confident without the makeup; it just acts as a booster to her self-confidence. Some women find a simple nice shade of lipstick or lip balm does the trick.
4. Enhances your natural beauty
The whole premise of makeup is to enhance or bring out what you already have. If you have pretty eyes, then a good eyeliner and mascara will really make them standout. .
5. Murphy’s Law: By not wearing makeup when you leave out of the house, it almost inevitably increases your odds of running into someone you either know from work/school, someone you like/admire or someone you haven’t seen in years and your knee-jerk reaction is always to reach for some type of makeup in your purse.
Just a word of caution, always try to keep your basics on hand. You never know what the day will bring or how the earth will treat your skin.
