Summer is the worst if your skin gets the least bit oily. Heat pumps up oil production and makes for seriously shiny skin. You can apply powder; but that can feel heavy and get cakey with repeated applications. You’re much better off with an oil absorber like the new Urban Decay De-Slick in a Tube Mattifying Gel. It soaks up oil bigtime and wipes out shine like nobody’s business without feeling heavy or dry or looking cakey.
How to Use It. Apply about a pea-size amount (you don’t need to use much) at the beginning of the day after moisturizer. With it, I don’t need to apply any face powder and I don’t need to touch up with powder later in the day. My foundation also stays on better, because it’s not sliding away with the oils in my skin. It’s awesome!
If I don’t remember to apply it at the start of the day, it can be used for touch-ups. Dab a little on the shiny areas and they get matte instantly. It’s kind of like magic. The oil just vanishes.
The Formula. De-Slick in a Tube is a gel that feels very lightweight and creamy. It goes on very smooth and has no color so it will work on any skin tone. It contains Veegum, a natural clay derivative, which soaks up oil and helps tighten pores. And it’s paraben-free.
Where to Buy It. De-Slick in a Tube is available for $28. You can find it in San Francisco and around the Bay Area at Sephora, ULTA, Macy’s and urbandecay.com.
