The famed Abbott and Costello comedy
routine "Who's on First?" has a link
to a Beatle, believe it or not.
I bet you're thinking it's Paul McCartney, huh? Actually, it's more Linda McCartney.
Tom Frangione pointed out a very obscure piece of trivia about the song "Linda," that was written about Linda McCartney, that I was actually aware of, but didn't recall when I wrote about the death of composer Jack Lawrence, who wrote the song. The song "Linda" has a direct connection to Abbott and Costello. Even more amazing is the fact that the connection involves their classic routine, "Who's on First?"
Here's what Tom wrote us:
"The song was featured on a 1947 episode of Abbott and Costello's radio program, when they did the COMPLETE "Who's on First" (not just the famous dialog set, but everything from Costello getting drafted by the Yankees, buying equipment, training, etc ....). Bizarrely .....I happen to have that show in the archive !

Steve Marinucci----what are his six degrees of separation from the Beatles? :):):)
Steve - realy REALLY late in viewing your article - the Tune for Linda (Skinnay Innes version from 47) was my Daughters lullaby. Nothing else worked. I thought no one knew that song! Need to know - whats the Paul Mc Cartney connection to the song? I didnt get it. I listened to babys Request - didnt hear any connection - not an avid Beatles guy so help me out? I only have a record and a tape of the original 1947 Whos on First and I want to give my Daughter a copy. I cant find Skinnays version anywhere but in that episode. Hated the chatter in the versions Ive found. If Sir Paul made some version of it - Im definately up for getting it! oh and Abbott and Lou NEVER dupicated perfect timing they made in the April 17 1947 version - it was a one time deal. Im at nmckiernan72@gmail.com if you get this. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
