We heard from more than one person today telling us they couldn't find "Let It Roll: Songs by George Harrison" in Walmart stores.
We talked to a Walmart rep on the phone earlier and got an email from a Capitol/EMI rep that confirms that they are indeed carrying it in stores. For whatever reason, it didn't show up in their stores on the first day.
It is available on their website, but strangely, it said earlier, "online only." We've been told that's not true.

Steve, now the website says something like "Available in many stores." Note the word "many."
It is a pretty sad day when ex-Beatle albums aren't carried in every store of what is probably the biggest music retailer in the U.S. This is going to happen to Paul too soon enough.
John, they did tell me the selection of CDs in each store varies according to the local market. But it'd be hard to imagine that many Walmart stores wouldn't carry the CD it given it's George Harrison.
This is exactly why I purchased the CD on Amazon and paid extra for one-day delivery. It was mailed out the 15th and was delivered to my front door, yesterday, the day the album was officially released. I hate chasing to WalMart or Borders or Best Buy and looking here and there and encountering employees who don't seem to know, hmmm, or they'll check in the backroom or ask their manager. It's the frigging Beatles or ex-Beatles people, you should ALWAYS know and have the product prominately displayed in every store as soon as it is released!
It's already happening to Paul. I've been to Target and the only McCartney I see in the racks isn't Paul, it's Jesse. Good God!
I bet Walmart just got wind that The B's used to take drugs! oooooohhhhh! That's not Walmart material!! LOL
Well, my Best Buy didn't have the CD. In fact they didn't even have any BEATLE CDs either, and this is one I have been going to for all the other Beatle releases. With the local fye's and HMV's closed now, I guess I will order online. Walmart's a 20 minute ride one way! No Target in the area either...
Steve, Wal-Mart is lying. Day 2 and no Harrison at my Wal-Mart.
Well Wal Mart in my area of Virginia didn't have it on the second day either. It doesn't even have a "George Harrison" section/marker where the CD would be placed if and when it does get it, as one loooks alphabetically A....Z. The only Beatles' CDs in stock was the group's initial album.
...and I forgot to mention that the Target near me only has Jesse McCartney in the racks also. I love George's previous comment on this site regarding the McCartney he found in the racks at his Target was Jesse, not Paul: "Good God." LOL...Indeed.
I may have to go to civilization later today. (Civilization would be the nearest town over (15 miles w/ a Wal Mart). I'll let you know if it has made it to the Virginia boonies. :)
What is the deal with Jesse McCartney? I find his mere presence using Paul's last name a little bit more than aggravating. I guess Jesse has tried to make it less aggravating by covering Paul McCartney songs faithfully, but, still. What is the point of using that last name if you're not going to do real McCartney songs.
Steve, "Let It Roll" is proving to be very hard to find, at least in Indiana. My Wal-Mart still does not have it(I may fire-bomb the store: just political satire Atty Gen. Holder). The Kokomo Best Buy has been a no go after selling its one copy and ChuckE from both your original and current Message Boards could not find it in two Indy Best Buys.
This is outrageous! No wonder Paul hates EMI!
It isn't in Columbus Ohio at Barnes and Noble or in Best Buy in WV, Borders in WV, or WalMart in WV. Where is it in the stores????
Got something to say?
