Ringo Starr new album cover art revealed

Ringo Starr's "Y Not" album will be out in January. (Universal Music Group)

Here's the cover for Ringo Starr's forthcoming album "Y Not" that will be out in January. (See our exclusive report.) Nice looking cover, we'd say.

No tracklisting or other information is available yet yet, but it will be on Hip-O Records.

We've learned a more detailed announcement could come as early as Thursday.

I have been listening to a lot of solo Ringo again after years of ignoring him. I really love him! Nice to see him smiling.

Hope he's still smiling when it sells less than 10,000 copies. Still, ya gotta give him credit for continuing to make albums these days. I'll buy it, like all his other stuff over the years, but how many "so-called" Beatles/Ringo fans will? At least the title isn't "Ringo Starr....What 4" Good luck Ringo, I hope this album doesn't get ignored like most of your others.

Wonderful cover, hip-looking, contemporary, very well done! BTW Steve D, though Rings' live albums may sell around 10K copies, all his studio albums have sold at least twice that in the US alone. Of course that's still a crying shame. I love Ringo's albums (even the ones he's kind of disowned). They're full of great musicianship, joyful, uplifting songs and playing, and deserve to go platinum if this were a perfect world.

Bernie BQ, Capitol Wreckage couldn't sell oxygen to a drowning man without a pretty (Katy Perry) or handsome (Coldplay) young face to go with it. Artists have been fleeing Capitol/EMI like the Titanic for some time. Ringo's management hopefully put him in a lifeboat and said "Row for the sake of your career!"

LOL. I agree. But at least it isn't another Paul McCartney 1950's rehash.

Cool album cover, looking forward to this album, and I'm so glad Ringo looks happy and hip.
Hope there's another tour on the way also, but mostly hope Paul and Ringo film a video for this song.
