Radio show replays the night Elton John fans at MSG got an incredible surprise -- John Lennon

The next edition of “Dennis Mitchell’s Breakfast With The Beatles” will feature John Lennon's Thanksgiving, 1974, surprise guest appearance at New York's Madison Square Garden with Elton John, where he played three songs in what turned out to be his final public concert performance. Also featured will be more from Paul McCartney’s new CD, “Good Evening New York City.”  This show will go online early Sunday at http://www.beatlesradioshow.com. Until then, you can still catch this week’s program featuring an interview with Judith Furedi, author of "john lennon: in their own write, a loving tribute from his friends and fans."

“Dennis Mitchell’s Breakfast With The Beatles” is now heard on many U.S. and Canadian radio stations, one in New Zealand, two in the U.K. and at the Cavern Club and at the Hard Day’s Night Hotel in Liverpool, plus on Beatles webcasts MaccaRadio and Beatles-a-Rama.

It was the most excitement I've ever heard in one room. Everything was rattling.

Isn't it interesting that Elton and John played "I Saw Her Standing There" together...and all these years later, Billy Joel and Paul did the same. Considering the Elton/Joel touring connection, I just thought it was kind of something coming full circle in some kind of way.

The three songs are also on the "Lennon" box set (Disc 3) and the Elton John "Made in England" maxi-single. The latter were remixed & digitally mastered in 1995 by Gus Dudgeon.
