McCartney Fed Ex Field presale report #2: tickets still out there

More tales from the computer front.

From Bill:

Success, even though I got my email after I finished work. Got nice side view tickets……much easier than the NYC presales…..but I am going to both shows……..hopefully Philly wont be to far behind!

From Frank C. Branchini:

For whatever reason, there are still decent tickets available for this show.  I just looked at single ticket availability (a friend from out of town was expressing interest) and there are still single seats in B3 on the field - the second set of seats back from the stage but dead center through American Express and in Section 123 - on the side and about the same distance back from the stage as B3 through PaulMcCartney.com.

And we received word that the McCartney shows will continue to be announced as they are confirmed.

To my surprise, I got A1, Row 6!
However, at least 3 friends I've spoken with told me they never got through at all. I blame the scalpers: Last night on Stub Hub there were no less than 1,100 entries offering to sell tickets to this (Fed Ex) show. And that's just one of many sources.
One of the more expensive was for 2 tix in "A1, '20' (may be better)" @ $5,000.00 EACH! I doubt they'll get their asking price (but who knows?). I just lost my job of 39 years...maybe I should sell my 2 and be $9,400.00 ahead! NAH! I'm gonna be right where I belong on 1 August!!!

So glad we got in before so many "resellers." It's all thanks to you Steve and my subscription to your column.

I thought the presale was only for AMEX cardholders, so I didn't give it much thought, figuring I had to wait until Friday. Then, I got the presale link around 12:30 from paulmccartney.com and within a couple of minutes I scored a ticket in A1, row 6. It's to the far left of the stage, but I'm not complaining being that close for about $300 (after all the various surcharges). I'm seeing where some people paid 4 - 8x that amount for VIP tickets in rows 2-4, but I didn't have that kind of discretionary cash. Overall, I'm very surprised that tickets were even available when I bought mine.

Why am I not getting any emails about pre-sales from PM.com? I've been a member forever and signed up a second time when I realized I wasn't getting any notices like my friend was. Does Paul hate me now?? :)
