The deluxe Fireman set, complete with the blue bag it came in.
The mailman came by as usual today and dropped a couple of magazines off and left. We were thumbing through one of them when he drove back to the house and brought this almost four feet high blue bag. We knew what it was. We're glad we were home. God knows what the neighbors would have thought was in there had we not been home to get it right away.
It was, of course, the deluxe Fireman set. We didn't expect it so soon, since we'd had reports that New Yorkers had only got theirs a couple of days ago.
We opened it, being careful not to rip anything and examined the contents. The box was a little bent, but the CDs were all fine. Unlike some of the reports we'd had, our CDs hadn't dislodged in shipping.
We are literally listening to it as we write this and haven't had a chance to go through it all yet. We'll write more as we do.
Right now, we're listening to an instrumental version of "Sing the Changes." I think I love the song even more now.

That big blue bag it comes in is called an "M-Bag"! Even the U.S. has those blue M-Bags to ship things in, but they never talk about it - you have to ask the post office for an M-Bag and M-Bag mailing forms.
The M-Bag stands for Media Bag and originally was used for sending bulk loads of books between libraries, then people.. and now electronic media.
An M-Bag costs amazingly little to ship, because what they do is give it the lowest shipping priority, often times by boat. It may take months to arrive, but the shipping for an M-Bag is exceedingly cost effective!!!
I, like others, at first saw it as if it were a big gift bag on my front porch.
I want mine!
Are the Fireman Sets being sent out to all US Cities or just major ones?
Kay: You had to order them online through the Fireman website. They're not available in stores, far as I know.
Congratulations, Steve. We know what you are doing this weekend.
