Fifteen more songs from the 45-track song list that comes with "The Beatles: Rock Band" were announced today by MTV and Harmonix Games.

Here's the list of new songs and the setting in which they're featured in in the game:

  • "Twist And Shout" / Cavern Club
  • "Do You Want To Know A Secret" / Cavern Club
  • "Can't Buy Me Love" / Ed Sullivan Theater
  • "I Wanna Be Your Man" / Ed Sullivan Theater
  • "Eight Days A Week" / Shea Stadium
  • "Paperback Writer" / Budokan
  • "And Your Bird Can Sing" / Budokan
  • "Yellow Submarine" / Abbey Road Dreamscape
  • "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" / Abbey Road Dreamscape
  • "With a Little Help from My Friends" / Abbey Road Dreamscape
  • "Within You Without You" / "Tomorrow Never Knows" / Abbey Road Dreamscape
  • "Revolution" / Abbey Road Dreamscape
  • "Birthday" / Abbey Road Dreamscape
  • "Dig A Pony" / Rooftop Concert
  • "I've Got A Feeling" / Rooftop Concert

Most of the settings are pretty straightforward, but the "Within You Without You" "dreamscape" is exceptionally psychedelic.

Some of the new songs can be heard and seen in the new trailer that is available to members of the preorder club. MTV and Harmonix Games say additional tracks will be announced "at a later date."

A total of 25 songs have now been revealed. The other 10, announced in June, were "I Saw Her Standing There," "I  Want To Hold Your Hand," "I Feel Fine," "Taxman," "Day Tripper," "Back In The USSR," "I Am The Walrus," "Octopus‘s Garden," "Here Comes The Sun" and "Get Back."

"The Beatles: Rock Band" allows fans to pick up the guitar, bass, mic or drums and experience The Beatles' music through gameplay that takes players on a journey through the band's career from the early touring days in 1963 Liverpool to the final performance on the Apple Corps rooftop.  The game marks the first time that Apple Corps, along with EMI Music, Harrisongs Ltd, and Sony/ATV Music Publishing have agreed to present The Beatles music in an interactive video game format.  Additionally,  "The Beatles: Rock Band" introduces three-part vocal harmonies to game play.

Giles Martin, co-producer of The Beatles' "Love" album, is music producer for this Beatles project.

As previously announced, the entire "Abbey Road" album will be available for future download purchase. In addition, on 9/9/09, "All You Need Is Love" will be released exclusively through Xbox LIVE for a limited time as a downloadable song for charity. Proceeds will benefit Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).

North American and European fans who pre-order "The Beatles: Rock Band" at a participating retailer are given an access code to officially join the game's pre-order club. Not really excited about "Dig a Pony" and "I've Got a Feeling". I'd include "And Your Bird Can Sing" as well. These are some of the weakest Beatles songs and I can't see how they thought they'd be good for the game....kind of scratching my head on those ones.

I may be mistaken, but I don't believe the Beatles performed "And your bird can sing"-live-anywhere. I have the Tokyo shows, both day and night-I remember "If I needed someone"-and "Yesterday"(one of the few performed that sounded good(not being nasty)-but there was no harmony needed-and THEY were so used to being drowned out by crowds-they weren't used to a crowd that actually listened-which I think was more out of respect for the location than for anything else. I know that some guitar mag. had AYBCS listed as the second best guitar solo-with which i agree..but maybe I'm missing the point-are the songs just assigned to locales that "could have been" given the timeframe? Eric is right bout Dig a Pony and iGaF--as lennon said-that was some of the s***-iest s*** we ever recorded-perhaps with the exception of 2 of us, let it be, Long W R..and Across T U, (cept contrary to lennon, I liked the munchkinish version on the "our world" lp better-I think he was upset that people missed words.

Without checking - there seems to be plenty of errors - The Ed Sullivan Show selections are all wrong, as well as "Eight Days A Week" @ Shea, and "And Your Bird Can Sing" at Budokan . . . Can't wait for the remastered versions in the year 2020 when they finally get it correct. I guess it's all besides the point, but still . . At least the Rooftop stuff seems historically accurate
    :-)

yer blogger- what do you see that's wrong? Are you talking about songs being played at Shea or Sullivan that were never played there? If so, I think they made it clear they would have to do that in order to fit the appropriate songs into the game. The instruments are spot on for each song though...even with Vox amps!

    Phil-
I think AYBCS has a good guitar solo and the ending is neat, but the rest of the song is pretty pedestrian...probably the weakest song on Revolver. I can't see how they decided to put in DaP and IGAF though. They probably wanted to include some "guitar" songs from Let it Be and those were chosen eh?

Eric M. - i'm just saying it's historically inaccurate, and that's (IMNSHO) always a bad idea - i don't care if they state that ahead of time - i can just see myself arguing with some kid, screaming : "They didn't EVER play 'Eight Days A Week" in concert EVER !" Reply - "But I've SEEN it " . . .That stuff drives me crazy. :-)

It's not like there aren't other songs, and other settings, that can be used . .

And in ten years - they'll improve the animation so that this will look dated . .
and every can buy it all over again !

I wonder how the heck a Rock Band version of "Within You Without You" is going to work. Does the game come packaged with a sitar and tambura? If I'm not mistaken, I don't think any of The Beatles other than George play instruments on that song.

Guys, lighten up. It's a video game, not a biography. Who cares if they really played the songs at the selected venues? The game is meant to be fun, and I don't see the point in getting hung up in such minutiae. The most important thing is that the songs are culled from the master tapes, so they are completely accurate. That's all that matters to me. And how can anyone object to the game including "I've Got a Feeling"? That song freakin' rocks, and it's perfect for Rock Band, unlike piano based songs like LAWR and LIB.

I've Got A Feeling and Dig A Pony are probably the best "rock-n-roll" songs besides Get Back of course on LIB. I play bass and DAP and IGAF are true bass and guitar songs...Just "listen to them"! Not every Beatle song has to be a "Radio air play" hit to be good. I didn't like what they did to Georges guitar part in "Let It Be ...Naked" on IGAF, they withdrew parts of it which in my opinion was wrong. And Yer Blogger, I know excatly what you mean about arguing with a "know it all kid"! LOL!

I didn't realize that they used the Love version for Within You Without You/Tomorrow Never Knows...I wasn't able to listen to the audio when I watched the video. It will be much easier to drum to the song then!

"I've Got a Feeling" is one of my top 5 Beatle songs. Pearl Jam covered it on an import album. It probably sounds the most like modern day rock than anything they did (well maybe the way modern day rock sounded before it started sucking). It's also one of the few true John / Paul duets.

Im estatic over the "new" Beatle stuff thats coming out...of course, at my age the CD are so much more appealing to me than the game, but the graphics are super....now here's my little comment.....is it just me or does the rock band "George" look more like Dhani in some shots?????

It's a GAME... It supposed to be Fun to play for youngers, Where's the fun if every song is a clone copy of live performances, in that case you better buy the Anthology DVD and see it....

Dig a pony and I've got a feeling were performed during the rooftop concert. That is why they are on the setlist. But as much as people are complaining about the setlist, I wonder If they realize the WHOLE catalog will be available through Xbox Live or playstaion network?
