Disney Beatles film to hold casting calls for lead roles at BEATexpo 2009

Disney has announced plans to remake "Yellow Submarine."
      (Apple Corps Ltd.)

Ever wanted to be one of the Fab Four in a movie? This could be your chance. Auditions for the four principal roles for the upcoming Walt Disney Beatles movie will be held Nov. 28-29 during BEATexpo 2009.

Casting call times are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 28 and noon to 8 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Holiday Inn, 700 E. Main St., Stamford, Conn. in the Shippan Point Room.

Those auditioning will be portraying between ages 20-45. Actors should come dressed appropriately for the late 60’s era and come in character with required accents and mannerisms.

Robert Zemeckis will direct the film, which is untitled according to the casting call information. It has previously been reported, however, that the movie will be a remake of "Yellow Submarine."

The film will be done in the motion capture technique that has been used in features such as "The Polar Express" and "A Christmas Carol." The human characters will resemble the Beatles and not the particular actor playing the role. For all of the characters, the movie will capture not only the actor's voice but also physical performance in detail. The captured performance then drives the computer-generated character in the final screen image. According to the information, the actor's actual performance is very non-technical "and liberating and is rehearsed and performed in a studio like a play."
