Dhani Harrison to host first public demo of 'Beatles: Rock Band' at gaming convention

"The Beatles: Rock Band" will have a celebrity to sing its praises at the E3 Expo June 2-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

No, it won't be Ringo Starr or Paul McCartney. It'll be Dhani Harrison, reports Music Radar, who's been the motivating force for the game even happening at all.

"I look forward to launching it at E3," Harrison told Music Radar.  "There's going to be a big demo. I'd love to say more, but I'm contractually obliged not to at the moment. Soon enough, though."

He says the game was initially discussed almost as a joke. "I became friends with the guys at Harmonix, especially (CEO) Alex Rigopulos. When the idea [for the game] came up between us just in jest, we didn't think it would happen. But it was such a good idea."

Harrison says there are still bugs to be worked out with the game, but he's confident of the results.

"There's still a couple of mistakes in it, but we'll get it right. There's always headaches involved with working on something of this magnitude, but every time we get stressed out, we just go and play the game. It's so much fun!"

Music Radar indicates Harrison might work on a new edition of "Rock Band" and quotes him as saying, "I love designing games and working with computers. Besides music, techology is my greatest passion."

Next week, the Music Radar website will feature a podcast interview with Harrison discussing the game, thenewno2 and a possible group tour.

You made a mistake based on conjecture. If you read the original MusicRadar article, it says that Harrison hopes to start work on the next edition of Rock Band. However, it doesn't say that it's a sequel to The Beatles: Rock Band. He's very involved with Harmonix, so they probably want his input on other games.
