"Modern Meditations to the Songs of The Beatles" is the first in a new series of New Age albums with a modern perspective. There are no pan flutes or wind chimes here. It's all rock guitars and warm percussion creating a lush sound. It works with doing yoga, meditating or just relaxing.
Two additional compilations have also been released. "Modern Meditations to the Rock Classics" features instrumental covers of songs by artists including the Beatles ("Across the Universe"), John Lennon ("Imagine"), Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, the Police and Led Zeppelin. "Modern Meditations to the Modern Classics" features similar arrangements of songs by the Verve, U2, the Cure, Oasis, R.E.M., Nirvana and others.
Releases scheduled for 2010 will include albums dedicated to songs by U2, Bob Marley, Radiohead and Coldplay, plus an "Indie Classics" album with songs by Modest Mouse, the Flaming Lips and Cat Power.
