A beagle owner since the early 1970's, Karen received her first beagle as a present. She was licensed as an American Kennel Club judge of the breed in 1976. She has judged the National Beagle Club Specialty, several regional specialty shows in the United States, as well as judging the breed in Canada, Denmark and Germany. She has shown several beagles over the years to their championship. Currently, Karen enjoys the companionship of two beagles, Portia and Pallas who are sisters. Karen lives and works in Reno, Nevada.
