I thought it might be interesting to my readers to set aside their various attitudes toward ILLEGAL aliens for a moment. Instead of the ongoing accusations of racism and hate, just imagine the country without the ILLEGAL problem altogether. I want to share part of an article written two years ago.
It was written by Tina Griego for the now defunct Denver Rocky Mountain News. The article was titled “Mexican Visitor’s Lament” (10-25-07). She interviewed Mexican journalist Evangelina Hernandez.
During the interview, Ms. Hernandez, in essence, challenged the author with this question:
“What happens to your country’s economy if 20 million people go away?”
Over 80 percent of Americans demand secured borders and ILLEGAL migration stopped. Here’s what the scenario would look like:
In California, if 3.5 million ILLEGAL ALIENS moved back to Mexico, it would leave an extra $10.2 billion to spend on overloaded school systems, bankrupt hospitals and overcrowded prisons. It would leave the highways safer and less congested and everyone could understand each other in English which would become the dominant language once again. 
In the United States as a whole, 20 million ILLEGAL ALIENS returning to their home countries (mostly Mexico) would allow:
The U.S. economy to return to the rule of law with employers hiring LEGAL citizens at a living wage. That would mean everyone would pay their fair share of taxes since nobody would be working “off the books”. That in turn would result in $401 billion in IRS income taxes collected annually, and an equal amount in city, local & state coffers.
There would be no need anymore to push ‘1’ for Spanish and ‘2’ for English, no more confusion in American schools forced to educate students in a bilingual setting and overcrowded schools would lose over 2 million ILLEGAL ALIEN school children at an
annual savings of billions in free school breakfasts and lunches.
The country would be free of 500,000 ILLEGAL ALIEN prison inmates saving $1.6 billion annually. This includes 15,000 MS-13 gang members who distribute $130 billion in drugs annually. All shipped out to the country of their origin.
Losing 20 million ILLEGAL ALIENS would clear up our crowded highways and gridlock. It’s important to remember that allocation of federal funds is based on legal population counts. ILLEGAL ALIENS simply add numbers and not dollars.
The argument is that many ILLEGAL ALIENS do pay taxes, but they are not considered citizens!
Over $80 billion dollars annually would not return to the ILLEGAL ALIEN’S home country by cash transfers. ILLEGAL ALIENS earned half that money untaxed which further drains America’s economy,
At least 400.000 “anchor babies” would not be born legally in this country costing us $109 billion per year per cycle. At least 86 hospitals in California, Georgia and Florida would be operating instead of bankrupt because ILLEGAL ALIENS pay nothing via the EMTOLA Act.
The AMA notes that unscreened ILLEGAL ALIENS would no longer bring in thousands of TB and hepatitis cases since they would now be stopped or deported entering the country.
Griego’s article goes on to list hundreds of other statistics too long to make one column.
The important thing that every humane and caring American should be considering is this:
What kind of life are we allowing these ILLEGAL ALIENS to have in this country? By allowing congress to ignore our present immigration laws prohibiting these people from being here in the first place, they live a life in an underground world. 
It is nonsense to even suggest that these people be rewarded for their illegal behavior. To encourage amnesty would invite millions more to enter illegally and stay.
It is a massive threat to national security and it must be stopped before this country loses its national identity and sense of its own rich American history. Immigration laws must be enforced and those who break them sent back immediately when apprehended.
Those who argue racism cannot seem to grasp that we are a nation, not a national program for the poor and indigent.
There is less and less revenue because of illegal immigration to insure that legal Americans can be taken care of by their own citizens.
How can anyone argue with that logic?

There are many positives to taking a ZERO tolerance towards illegal immigration. The total cost of illegal aliens is more expensive than this articles states. It doesn't take into consideration the human toll of the crimes they commit. More than 50,000 Americans have been killed and murdered by illegal since 9/11/01. What are those lives worth? Unless our government stops pandering to pro amnesty groups, the invasion of illegals will continue. We are bankrupt with no sign of recovering anytime soon. Our nation is being destroyed from within. Do you think Iraq and Afghanistan is a bigger threat than Mexico? Is Afghanistan or Iraq invading the US by the millions? Bring home our military and secure our borders. Tell Mexico we will no longer turn a blind eye to this act of war. If Mexico won't change its ways towards illegal immigration, then launch a full invasion of Mexico and annex the entire country. If we are to absorb their population, we may as well have the land and resources too.
This article is hyperbolic and ridiculous. Go back and read the last US Census Mr. Drama....

Over 50k killed? Stats? I like how you throw 9/11 in there, so very George Bush of you, you ole fear mongerer you. The hijackers had valid visas. I also like how no one puts any blame on EMPLOYERS, who have mostly created this mess. In Los Angeles, we have been overrun will illegal immigrants. They hover under trees at every shopping center. The day (may 1st) when they all rallied in the streets downtown, there was no traffic, no lines.... anywhere. It was then that I realized the negative impact of their presence in our community. Then later that evening, I watched the news and saw the tens of thousands in the streets waving Mexican flags and shouting for their rights. All with several Anchor babies in tow.
When can we have our communities back? When will the sanctuary policies be reversed and our immigration laws be enforced?
How many communities will be effected by this problem before someone stands up for the rights of American citizens? Why is our government abandoning us and leaving us with this problem on every corner, in every school, hospital and jail in our country? Local enforcement is prohibited and federal enforcement is ineffective. What are we supposed to do?

Mr. Schwab. How do you think so many illegals have come and just stay here? I do not think 20 million Mexicans just come to this country to pick fruit. They're certainly staying at the farms.

But if the ILLEGAL aliens were deported, who would dump garbage and condoms on my street? Who would pee on my back fence while I'm eating dinner on the other side of the fence? Who would be drinking and driving down the street? I'd lose all contact with the police as I'd have no reason to call them anymore! And I don't know if I could handle the quiet without the blasting accordion music coming from the passing cars or car alarms at all hours of the night.

It's a no-win situation. Before we can enforce the immigration laws, we need to cure the problem of people entering the company illegally. As the law is applied today, people are being rewarded for getting across the border into the U.S. And when a person is deported because of violating federal law, and he leaves behind children and a wife, then the government is blamed - when it was his illegal act that is the root of the problem - it not simplyed, caused it. At this point, we may have to reach a compromise with who is here, but not until we can stem the flow.
How long would Mexico allow illegal residents of that
country to kill 50,000 + Mexicans, deal drugs harmful
to Mexico, form gangs that rob, murder and rape, fill up the prisons, burn Mexican flags, crowd their schools,
and allow its own people to suffer while TENS of BILLIONS
of THEIR MONEY was given to people who were in the

Why then, are we so dumb, and they are so smart ?
But without illegals who would do borderline slave labor for us? Why should we have our American teenagers making money and learning the value of hard work doing stuff like mowing lawns, babysitting, and working at fastfood joints (jobs that make you see why it's worth having an education) when an immigrant can do that for so much less. I mean, if these people want to come here to live a harsh poverty driven life, who are we to say no? Who are we to say, why dont you assimilate, practice child planning, put focus on education, learn english, and conform to our American system? No cultures are better then one another, just different, right? I mean look how wonderful LA is compared to 40 years ago. The schools are great, their is no graffiti, you walk anywhere and feel safe. Not to mention how clean the air is. i know that for every one person in LA who is going green there is 50 illegals driving gas guzzling cars and littering, but if that's their culture who are we to judge.
If illegal immigrants left this country, Americans would not be willing to work at a fast food restaurant for minimum wage.A lot of jobs that MEXICANS do AMERICANS would not do.
