It’s barely 24 hours since West defeated East at Fenway Park last night in the Cape Cod Baseball League All Star game, and no one in the crowd of more than 10,000 was more excited to be there than Y-D Red Sox and Fresno State first baseman Jordan Ribera.
Undrafted despite leading all of Division 1 in home runs with 27, the California product didn’t know he was coming to the Cape until two days before he arrived there, and he’s since put up such numbers (a league-best 7 homers, 7 doubles, and 1 triple) that he’s more than made the most of his opportunity to show major league scouts what they missed.
