The Durham Bulls baseball season is nearly three weeks in, and the ballpark's newest restaurant is finally ready to open its doors. According to a post on the Tobacco Road Sports Cafe blog, opening day is set for Tuesday, April 27th. The restaurant and sports bar will reside behind the park's Blue Monster in left field, in the shadow of the "Hit Bull, Win Steak" sign - although no word has been given whether Tobacco Road will be providing the fabled steaks.
The post also announces a contest to benefit some worthy Durham charities, committing to donate $50 for each home run hit by a Bulls player. The Bulls organization will match the donation, for a total of $100 per home run. To choose the charity, Tobacco Road has placed a poll on its blog page to allow readers to choose who they'd like to benefit from the donations.
The charity finalists are:
Clean Energy Durham
The Emily K Center
The Exchange Clubs' Child Abuse Prevention Center
Genesis Home
