With the end of summer rapidly approaching, a magical time of the year is upon us. It's the time when fantasy football aficionados start to pore over draft sheets, listen intently to sports radio all day at work, and wait with baited breath for Brett Favre's decision yet again: it's fantasy football draft season!
For anyone who's never participated, fantasy football is a great excuse to watch football games with a group of your closest friends, discuss at length such topics as the merits of Sidney Rice or the effect of schedule strength on the Chargers' defensive line, and (of course) drink copious amounts of beer. Many bars in Raleigh and beyond have recognized the potential business boon represented by fantasy groups and their love of beer, often offering draft packages for leagues that hold their draft at the bar.
Raleigh's Brickhouse sports bar (formerly Playmakers) announced just such an offer today on their Facebook page, providing drafters a free appetizer and drink token good for one drink - alcoholic or not. The Brickhouse also offers plenty of seating and WiFi access for leagues with online drafts (or for a little last-minute research). If you're looking to move your league's draft out of the commissioner's living room, Brickhouse might just be a great alternative.
