Kings Barcade, the Raleigh indie-music landmark that was set to reopen tonight after a 3-year hiatus, appears to have been postponed - but likely only until tomorrow night.
According to local news blog New Raleigh and the MySpace page for Slim's, the show planned for tonight at Kings featuring The Spring Collection, The Royal Nites, and The Tomahawks has been moved to Slims. No reason or additional information was given at this time.
The new Kings website still lists a show for tomorrow night with Winston-Salem based rockers Bandway, and the latest on the band's MySpace page seems to confirm that booking.
Downtown Raleigh has been waiting since 2007 for the return of Kings...guess one more night can't hurt, right?
A Special Reminder from Examiner.com and the NHTSA: Enjoy your Raleigh night out responsibly - be smart and don’t get caught driving drunk. Plan for a sober driver, take a taxi or use public transportation (a Raleigh Rickshaw is always a good choice).
