Backyard Bistro serves up terrific food and a true sports bar feel
Backyard Bistro
1235 Hurricane Alley Way, Raleigh
Walking through the front doors of Backyard Bistro, your first impression might be that this is more of a restaurant than a bar, a place to take the family for dinner - and you'd be partially right. The Bistro, just across Trinity Road from the RBC Center, serves up some fantastic food and a family-friendly atmosphere. It's the little touches, though, that let you know that deep down Backyard Bistro has the soul of a sports bar.

Mini Tacos, one of Backyard's top sellers
For starters, there's the seating. In the main dining area, each of the booths is set in a semi-circle pattern facing a wall of five enormous HDTVs - ensuring that everyone at the table can see the action without getting a stiff neck from craning to look at the screen. On top of that, each table has a built-in speaker control that allows you to choose audio from any of the 5 TVs or house music.
Also contributing to the Bistro's sports bar cred is its menu, a perfect balance between fine dining and Saturday-afternoon finger-licking. Dishes like the basket of mini-tacos and white cheddar Wisconsin cheese bites pair high quality ingredients with sports-friendly recipes in phenomenal fashion.

Backyard Bistro's burgers are made from
fresh-ground Angus Barn beef
But what would a sports bar be without a burger? This is where Backyard Bistro really shines. Featuring top-grade beef ground fresh daily by the butchers of the Angus Barn, the Bistro delivers one of the best burgers in town. The signature Backyard Burger features an 8-oz patty topped with pulled, sauced pork and slaw. The sweet sauce might not suit the palates of Eastern NC BBQ purists, but makes for a delicious sandwich nonetheless.
Don't let the name fool you - Backyard Bistro is one of the best sports bars in town. A menu that's unmatched in the area, reasonable prices, and all the sports you can watch combine to make a trip to the Bistro an experience that's hard to beat.
