If you spent any time in the Glenwood South area this weekend, you may have noticed this banner posted on the front railing of the familiar building at 407 Glenwood Ave. next to Helios Cafe. The banner invited patrons to bid the Pourch a final farewell and touted the coming of a new bar called The Ivy. The Ivy, a new venture from Mura and Sono parent company Eschelon Hospitality, will be opening in the space soon, accompanied by a new downstairs neighbor known as Trim.
The downstairs bar, the Bassment, has been closed for a few weeks for renovations, but the Pourch had remained open for business until this weekend. The two-story club, which has no official website, made no mention of any impending closure on its MySpace page. Attempts to contact the club failed, as it appears the phone line for the Pourch and Bassment has already been disconnected.
