Each year, DRAFT magazine releases a list of the 150 Best Beer Bars in America, highlighting bars, draft houses, and brewpubs that serve the highest quality brews in the country. DRAFT's website is currently highlighting the chosen bars in each state, releasing the short list of North Carolina's top spots earlier this month. That list includes three Raleigh bars:

Busy Bee Cafe, 225 S Wilmington St., was cited for having some gems like Terrapin Midnight Project and Dogfish Head Burton Baton among its relatively small beer collection, as well as excellent food and live music.

Raleigh Times Bar, 14 E Hargett St., shows a heavy Belgian influence in both its design and beer list. The Times boasts a selection of over 100 beers, including some hard-to-find traditional Belgian-style brews.

Village Draft House, 428 Daniels St. (in Cameron Village), has a draft list that reads like a Who's Who of the region's specialty brewers. Big Boss, Highland, Foothills, and Carolina Brewing Co. make up just a few of the 99 taps along the wall behind the dark wood-trimmed bar at the Draft House.

Another bar that made the list, Tyler's Tap Room, has locations in Carrboro, Durham, and Apex, but will be opening soon in downtown Raleigh as well.

With four of America's best bars right here in the Triangle, local beer fanatics certainly have a lot to love.

I used to work at Tyler's in Durham- the reason they rock is they do NOT serve Bud. Life's too short to drink bad beer! I'm excited about their new Raleigh store.
