Navigating consignment stores can be an overwhelming experience for buyers and sellers--especially buyers. If digging through a bunch of garbage to find that one great piece is really not your cup of tea, the Capitol Hill Style Resale Salon is a consignment shop you'll love!
"Belle" the witty and fashion-savvy nom de plume behind the Capitol Hill Style (CHS) fashion blog, recently launched a CHS resale salon that makes the whole consigning process easy to understand and fun! The site clearly posts instructions for sellers and buyers, and everything for sale is Belle-approved! It's almost like having her as your personal shopper; you will not find CHS faux-pas like Crocs on this site. Another unique aspect of this site--that I absolutely love--are the descriptions of the items for sale. Sellers are very candid with their descriptions of how an item fits. When perusing the site it's like you're shopping your BFF's closet and she's giving you the REAL story on how that 8 actually fits like 4.
The best part of the site, though, are the prices! Some sellers really just want to clean out their closets, so many of the items will note that you can contact the seller and make an offer. A quick glance through the items on page one and you'll see several $300-400 dresses for under $100.
A wise shopper would probably clean out her closet, sell some items on the CHS Resale Salon and THEN do some shopping, but I wouldn't blame you if you shopped first and purged later. :)

This is a great tip for DC shoppers! Consignment stores in DC leave something to be desired. I think the Remix Vintage store is awful. Really bad and overrated. I hated Remix when they were in Del Ray. They carry the same outdated, unfashionable crap as consignments stores in Baltimore but at a much higher price. This online store is a great option.
