Orlando ballroom professional Eddie Rivera, a native Puerto Rican, began his formal dance training in jazz and ballet at the age of 13. Since leaving his home country, his dance career has included study and training with top Ballroom and Latin/Rhythm coaches and extensive travel to over ten countries, where he has taught and performed in numerous competitions and shows as a Pro-Am and Professional competitor (Rising Star American Rhythm). Rivera has also performed with celebrities such as Manny Manuel and Hector y Tito.
Eddie has established himself as an International performing artist, instructor and choreographer who is now recognized as one of Florida's most exciting and promising Rising Star Latin dancers. Additionally, his passion and lifelong love for dance, music, and culture prompts him to explore and study other forms of world dances, such as the Argentine Tango and Flamenco styles of dance. Eddie has over 8 years of experience in Ballroom DanceSport and more than 10 years of experience in competitive Salsa, one of today’s most popular dances . This extensive background has given Eddie a strong competitive style that is uniquely his own, and has given him a great command of movement and poise that gives him a very striking look on the floor that most Latin dancers only wish they had. Eddie Rivera will most likely be a name that you will hear more about in the years ahead on the competitive circuits, especially in the Latin and/or American Rhythm divisions.
