Every season brings about new fashions and the wedding industry is no different. With many brides getting engaged over the holiday season, there will be many 2010 wedding dates. Here are some of the wedding trends to watch for in 2010:
Mismatched bridesmaids dresses are nothing new, but 2010 will bring a new meaning to the mismatched dress. Instead of choosing one color from one designer and letting bridemaids pick a dress within those parameters, 2010 brides are just picking a color and letting their 'maids do the rest. This allows bridemaids to get a dress that they like, even off the rack or in a department store, for a price that meets their needs.
Another big wedding trend for 2010 is color. Instead of pastels for spring, 2010 weddings will have bold colors. Bold purples, deep rubies, and burned oranges will be popular choices for those getting married in 2010.
Smaller, more intimate celebrations are gaining in popularity. Many couples are opting to hold a backyard wedding ceremony, or a ceremony with immediate family only, followed by a small reception. This trend will continue throughout 2010, as well.
Cupcakes are on their way out as a wedding trend, allowing for the comeback of the wedding cake and the growing emergence of the dessert buffet. Wedding cakes used to be dry and tasteless, but pastry chefs have brought the wedding cake back to a tasty and fun wedding tradition.
