Raspberry lovers will fall head over both heels for the raspberry Danish at Stick Boy Bread Co. Bakery in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina!
A grand amount of raspberry filling in the midst of so much dough….mmm, it will surely hit the spot! The Danish has no doubt at least one quarter of a cup of preserves glistening in just the right amount of dough. The ribbon of icing drawn across this gem adds enough delicate sweetness to balance the fruity-tartness of the raspberry filling.
One look at the pretty Danish and you’ll hear it calling, “Eat me, please, devour me!” One bite into it and you’ll be saying, “Oh my, thank goodness I bought you!”
Stick Boy Bread Company’s Danish pastry dough is absolutely delicious! It has more substance than typical Danish dough leaning towards a brioche-like texture.
In fact, their brioche roll is soft and buttery! I’m sure that warmed up with some jam, wow, it will be incredible.
Their blueberry scone is heavily speckled with blueberries. It is soft, with a light sweetness to it. Give their savory scones a try too.
Stick Boy also serves up a huge selection of artisan breads, plus foccacia, cinnamon rolls, sticky buns (some even covered in walnuts and raisins), cheesecakes, muffins, and cookies (which looked wonderfully thick and hearty). Custom wedding cakes / specialty cakes are also available.
Finally, to quench your thirst, the bakery serves up quite a selection of beverages: coffee, lattes, tea, cocoa, cider, and smoothies.
The view from the seating area in the bakery is awesome! You can see a baker cracking eggs, the ovens going, bread being wrapped. It is very comforting and welcoming!
Stick Boy Bread Co. is located within the strip of shops on South Main Street. Coming from Walmart / Daniels restaurant, you will pass a BP gas station on your right. The bakery will be across the street from the station, a few paces down. There is a parking lot just past the bakery side of the strip mall. If you reach Raleigh street, you have gone too far.
