Baha'i songwriter to debut "oneness" song at Chicago's Unity Walk

Alessandro Giua, a Glenview-based Baha'i singer/songwriter, will debut a new song, "I Believe in One," during Chicago's 10th Annual Unity Walk and Peace Rally on Saturday, September 26, 2009.

Alessandro is one of ten artists scheduled to perform at the rally, which is sponsored by Chicago's Commission on Human Relations. The event begins with a 3-mile trek along the lakefront and concludes with a rally and entertainment dedicated to making Chicago free of racism, prejudice, discrimination, and hate crimes.

"The new song reflects the Baha'i belief in the oneness of humanity and the need to eliminate all forms of prejudice," Alessandro said during a recent phone interview. "I wrote it before I was invited to participate in the Unity Walk, but it perfectly fits the theme of the event."

Registration begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, and the event will run from 9 a.m. to noon on the Great Lawn on Museum Campus Drive, directly across from Gate 14 of Soldier Field Stadium in downtown Chicago.
