Today is Blog Action Day and it's dedicated to climate control issues. So any of you who have blogs and have any tips on how to help this planet turn around any of the environmental damage that's going on, make sure to add your advice to your blog for today.
For gardeners this is a great opportunity to share one of the many new ways to garden more gently on this planet. Whether you remove thirsty lawns, build vertical gardens or roof your buildings with greenery, many possiblilities are open. And if you know of any recent products that will make caring for your outdoor areas more eco-friendly, post the links on your blog.
The combination of ecological awareness and the need for new industries due to the recession is birthing new industries that are offering better, earth-friendly products. And with utility bills sky-rocketing, the average person is becoming inspired to look at more efficient -- and less expensive -- ways to live.
If you don't have a blog, you can still do your part by going out to your garden or wandering around your house and taking an inventory of all the things you can do to make your home more eco-friendly. Look at your gutters, roof, windows and doors for better insulation, pest control and safety. Consider help from solar or wind energy. And think about re-designing your garden to increase productivity and efficiency.
