On October 13, 100 singles left LAX airport on Air
New Zealand's Matchmaking Flight, a unique experience for singles.
The hosts of the pre-party and guests aboard the flight were reality TV stars Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, who met on the set of ABC's The Bachelor.
Jason and Molly helped singles mingle through speed dating and served as matchmakers during the flight, which also featured a woman dressed up like cupid. Onboard and offboard events helped travelers meet their match.
"An adventure like this doesn't come around very often and we love that these travelers are willing to take a chance on love and to open their minds to new experiences," Mesnick said. "New Zealand is a very special place for us, and we couldn't be happier to be invited by Air New Zealand to return, allowing us to escalate our love and commitment to each other."
Though Mesnick proposed to Melissa Rycroft at the season finale, he broke off the engagement at the taping of the After the Final Rose special and ask Molly Malaney for another chance at their relationship, making his relationship with Rycroft the shortest public engagement in the show's history.
After the Air New Zealand Matchmaking Flight, a party kicked off at SKYCITY'S hipster bar, twentyone. Passengers, along with single New Zealanders, headed over to The Wharf on Northcote Point followed by an after-party back at SKYCITY.
