Kiptyn Locke is behind some of today's hottest charitably efforts in California.
Though he didn't win Jillian Harris's heart and the final rose (the Canadian Bachelorette chose Ed Swiderski, a Chicago technology consultant), Kiptyn Locke is using his newfound fame for a good cause.
Last week, attendees to a Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser in San Diego got the chance to bid on a date with Locke, finalist on ABC's The Bachelorette.
He helped raise over $8000 for the charity.
Locke is no stranger to charitable causes. He organizes the yearly Switchfoot Bro-Am event at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. On October 4, he'll partake in the L.A.'s Life Rolls on Foundation gala, to benefit those suffering from spinal-cord injuries.
He also works with his mother Eve Beutler, who founded Cancer Angels of San Diego--a nonprofit that helps cancer patients struggling to stay in their homes.
It's still unknown whether or not Locke will be chosen to star as the next Bachelor contestant. A recent interview with producer Mike Fleiss made it sound like he was still up for consideration, along with Jake Pavelka and Reid Rosenthal, fellow contestants from last season. Bachelor host Chris Harrison also told the press that it could be a completely new person chosen for the role.
