The iBert Safe-T-Seat is a work of genius. It was designed by a mom and a dad who enjoyed going on bike rides with their young children. What they didn't like is how their kids were closed up in a bike trailer when they went on rides. Even seats that mounted to the back of their bikes left something to be desired - the parents couldn't interact with their kids, and all the kids got to see was mommy or daddy's backside as they pedaled down the road. Not a pretty sight in spandex, you can be sure.
So the parents put their helmets together and designed the iBert Safe-T-Seat, a seat that mounts to the front of the bike. This seat is great. It's really easy to install (took less than 5 minutes!) thanks to the patented "stinger" system. The carrier is extremely safe (it meets all current industry safety standards) and is designed so well that your knees won't hit it while you are pedaling. Of course, the best feature is that you can talk to your child as you are riding merrily along, and they can see what you see. It's a great way to cruise around the National Mall (or just around your neighborhood) on a sunny day.
The iBert is designed for kids ages 12 months to 4 years. The maximum recommended height is 42 inches, and the maximum recommended weight is 38 pounds. Of course, your child (and you!) should always, always wear a helmet when going for a bike ride.
If you are tired of having your kids look at your butt every time you take them on a bike ride (no offense, but I am sure they are tired of it, too), you should definitely check this seat out. Here is a list of where you can buy the iBert Safe-T-Seat locally.
Now get rolling!
