Maclaren strollers have been recalled
Maclaren strollers have announced a voluntary recall on nearly one million of their strollers on Monday, November 9, 2009, due to possibility of finger lacerations or amputations.
The risk is when children's fingers have gotten stuck in the stroller's hinges when being opened or closed. The company has reported at least twelve amputations across the country so far.
These umbrella strollers have been produced in China since 1999, and they have been sold at stores like Target and Babies R Us. The Connecticut-based company, as well as the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, are urging customers to stop using this stroller immediately.
The recall is on the following models: Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno, and the Easy Traveller. You can contact Maclaren at 877-688-2326 or visit the Maclaren website to receive a free repair kit. Mclaren says the repair kit includes a hinge cover designed to fit all Maclaren strollers. Parents should take action immediately!
