A hang-out for Baby Boomers online?
It's been established and examined here that Baby Boomers are becoming more savvy when it comes to technology and use of the
That said, there are moves afoot to answer the question: Now that they're on the web, where are Baby Boomers spending their time?
One such effort comes from Baby Boomer (Knowledge Center).
It cited an O'Reilly Media study that showed phenomenal growth of Baby Boomers on Facebook. You can imagine the text from our kids: "OMG! Dad's on FB!"
The Knowledge Center is doing survey, which started accumulating data Feb. 1, to determine just what social networks Baby Boomers are using.
The survey asks which of the following do you have an active membership:
- Boomer Diva Nation
- Boomj
- Eons
- Friendster
- Grandparents.com
- National Association of Baby Boomer Women
- Silver Planet
- Vibrant Nation
As of this post, with several days to go, the Silver Planet web site has a higher percentage of votes than the other.
Not on the survey list, and somewhat glaring by their omission are:
AARP
Twitter
LinkedIn
And, to a lesser extent:
Digg
Reddit
Personally, I have accounts on Facebook, Eons, AARP, Twitter, LinkedIn, Digg, Reddit, Fark and probably other places where I can't remember.
Part of it is to network these Examiner posts. Part of it is socializing, keeping up with friends and family. And a part of it is the professional network that LinkedIn provides.

Thanks for mentioning the National Association of Baby Boomer Women. We appreciate it. Just want others to know that the place to hang out in forums where women are posting 24/7 is www.BoomerWomenSpeak.com, our sister site.
Again, thanks PAul for including us in your list!

Paul, thanks for the mention of BB[KC]. The reason several sites were omited was because, as you correctly state, there are so many of them. That is why we included "other" as a catchall.
Paul we appreicate the mention. I know we are connected on Facebook.
Have an awesome day,
