The Way of Ayurvedic Herbs, by Karta Purkh Singh Khalsa and Michael Tierra, definitely is ‘The most complete guide to natural healing and health’. I was amazed at how much information was contained in only 372 pages.
Karta Purkh Singh Khalsa, D.N.C., A.H.G., R.C., is an herbalist, nutritionist, yoga teacher and educator who has been making natural healing approaches available to the general public for over thirty five years. Michael Tierra, L.Ac., O.M.D., A.H.G., is one of the founders of the North American natural health movement, and was one of the first acupuncturists to be licensed in the United States. He began his herbal studies in 1968, when he learned the wild forest plants and healing ways of the Karok and Yurok Indians. Both of these gentlemen lecture throughout the U.S. and abroad regarding matters of health and wellness.

In addition to the above, The Way of Ayurvedic Herbs: A Contemporary Introduction and Useful Manual for the World's Oldest Healing System contains the most exhaustive Ayurvedic materia medica I’ve seen. This section alone is well worth having a copy of this book for your library. This volume in interesting, fraught with personal stories, articulates day to day life using Ayurvedic principles and is truly a ‘complete’ ayurvedic guide to herbs. The only addition I might suggest would be pictures for the material medica, but the book and its information is truly extraordinary.
