Jay Leno is giving back to the car community.

Now here is a millionaire doing what he can for some good people that are out of work. According to an Automotive News article Jay Leno will be doing his “Comedy Stimulus Plan”.

Jay will be performing on April 7th at The Palace in Detroit. All you have to do to attend is declare unemployment and you can get up to 4 free tickets. Jay is even springing for parking and refreshments.

Not a bad night out for an unemployed worker in Detroit. Detroit is showing a 11.6 % unemployment rate right now and I think Jay should be commended for what he is doing. This is an easy way for an unemployed Detroit worker to have a nice night out with a A-list act at no cost.

Granted Jay has done well for himself since taking over the reigns for Johnny Carson in May of 1992. He is giving up that post on May 29th 2009. Leno is known as televisions “car guy” and has been seen several times on “My Classic Car”. He has one of the best collections of classic and modern cars.

It only seems fitting that Jay would do something to pay his respect to the Detroit locals, and this is quite a nice thing to do. Attaboy Jay!
