The wacky world of automotive clipart--where do they come up with this stuff?

You think this is weird, you should look at the slideshow below!

I don’t know about you, but I just love clipart.  It’s so stupid; so cheesy.  But you still see it all the time in advertisements and accompanying articles.  I use it sometimes here on this Examiner page.

I went to my subscription clipart service, and there are more than 3,000 pages of clipart devoted just to cars.  There are several of them that you would expect to see, say, in the Yellow Pages.  Those would be like repairmen, car dealers, stuff like that. 

Then there are some that are just plain weird.  There’s one with two monks getting ready to go for a drive.  I mean really, why do they have that?  Does anyone ever download that image and use it for anything?

Well let me tell you, I downloaded it.  That, and several other choice selections for your viewing pleasure.  Some of them are just hilarious.  They don’t necessarily make any sense.  But they’re good for novelty purposes.

So without further ado, check out the slideshow below for ten great works of automotive clipart.  You’ll laugh.  You’ll cry.  But mostly, you’ll scratch your head.
