Schnitzer flashes its baby blues

I wish we had cool stuff like this in the States. The Verband der Automobil Tuner  (Association for German Car Tuners or VDAT) has a program called "Tune it! Safe!" that promotes (obviously) safety and car mods, kind of like D.A.R.E. but with awesome cars and big-name German hot-rodders.

In this, the fifth year of the program, ACSchnitzer was called upon to provide a sweetly-tuned police car for the Essen Motor Show. As you can see, they chose BMW's 123d, opting for efficiency versus outright speed.

The ACS1 2.3d is home to a slew of interior/exterior bits from Schnitzer, including: mirrors, wheels, suspension, split-lip front spoiler, roof spoiler, trunk-mounted wing, pedals, carbon fiber trim, and a 241-horse power upgrade. The list is actually quite huge, so check out the press release if you're interested. Other than that, you can see everything in the gallery below.

Sexy Figures:

Engine: BMW 2.3 liter 4-cylinder diesel tuned by ACSchnitzer

Transmission: 6-speed automatic

Power: 241 horsepower

Torque: 480 Nm / 354 lb-ft

0-100 km/h (62 mph): 6.7 seconds

Suspension: ACSchnitzer sports suspension w/ 30mm drop, front strut brace
