Et tu BMW! Now the Bimmers have joined the ranks of the current recalled vehicles mania. The European automaker is recalling approximately 12,400 new 5-Series sedans for defective fuel-tank sensors.
Reportedly, the sensor within the fuel tank could become wedged against the tank and display more fuel than what is actually available.
So far 10 cases where the faulty sensors presented a problem in the sedans have been reported in the U.S.
On these shores, 6,400 cars have been recalled thus far, and over 5,000 vehicles in China.
BMW has not yet announced a solution to the problem. For more info contact BMW of North America at 1-800-525-7417.
