I’ve certainly enjoyed the car commercials of yesteryear Superbowl games. Sadly, this year the Detroit Three have decided to bow out and will not be airing any commercials this year during the Super Bowl game. I’m sure that they’ll be truly missed by more than a few of us. They have certainly given us some pretty memorable commercials in the past. However, this year in a tanking economy and with all three tightening their belts and trying to survive, an exorbitantly priced ad might not be the smartest way to go. In 2008, the average price for a 30 second commercial during the Super Bowl game was a staggering 2.7 million. NBC sold 12 spots this year and rates ran as high as $3 million apiece. Sheesh! I love these commercials! I esepcially love the HHR one. I fell out when I first saw it and now, it happened again, I couldn't stop laughing! The Statoil one is the best too. These are so great Ruth.

I remember all of these commercials because they are the best. I also remember each circumstance surrounding the year when these commercials aired. The Chevy HHR one was my son's graduation year. The squirrel one was when my wife got her big promotion. I will miss seeing the 'Big Three' this year but I am hopeful that the economy will get better and they will again, entertain us like they have in the past. Thanks Ruth.
These are toooooo funny. The animals screaming in the first video is my favorite! The poor guy clearing the snow off the wrong car makes me laugh every time I see it. That's why I use my clicker B-4 I clear the snow to make sure I have the right car!! hahaha...
These are so great. I remember 3 of them. The Chevy HHR one is a riot. I am kind of sad that the 'Detroit Three' have decided to opt out this year from participating in the Super Bowl commercials but it is understandable. Thanks for sharing these memories.
