Local and national artists were provided with blank skateboard decks to create one-of-a-kind skateboard art to raise funds for autism research. The program, All Decks on Hand features the work of nearly 200 artists from across the US, Canada and the UK who have donated their custom art to the After Hours Gallery in Phoenix. Art created on the decks include photographs, painting and mosaics. An exhibit of the boards will be at the gallery, on weekdays, from November 6 through December 4, 2009, from 10am - 5pm.

On November 6th, the public will be able to bid on the boards in person during the opening reception from 6 – 10pm, with online bidding beginning November 7th.

The final auction, which is hosted by the Southwest Research & Resource Center (SARRC) and the After Hours Gallery, will be held on Friday, December 4th at 8 pm at the After Hours Gallery, located at 116 West McDowell Road, Suite 120 in Phoenix.

All funds raised will benefit SARRC’s Vocational & Life Skills Academy. The academy teaches life and career skills with community oriented programs for people with autism, ages 13 and older.

For information on one of the participating artists or sponsors or to bid on a deck after November 6th, visit the All Decks on Hand web site or the After Hours Gallery online or call the gallery at 602.710.2398. Visit SARRC online for information on their other programs and resources.
