October 7, 2009. Alabama public schools plan to administer H1N1 vaccinations to school children later this month.

600,000 doses of injectionable vaccines are expected to arrive. After that 300,000 per week will arrive in Alabama.

The vaccinations for school children and employees will be voluntary. Children must return a signed consent form to receive the shot. This vaccination will be provided for free to students and employees.

In an email, Michael Sibley, a spokesperson for the Alabama Department of Public Health said, “The goal is the voluntary vaccination of as many people as possible.”

Our question to you: Will you allow your child to receive the H1N1 Vaccine given the worries over  thimerosal, deaths and the 1976 tragedies? Please comment below.

I don't have children at home, but I don't know many parents who are going to get these shots for their kids.
