Patrick Swayze dies of pancreatic cancer

Patrick Swayze (August 18, 1952 - September 14, 2009) dies at age 57 of pancreatic cancer. Just 5 days ago he met with his family and said his goodbyes. Reportedly, Swayze knew the end was near due to increased fatigue and breathlessness.

 

Swayze has been undergoing pioneering Cyberknife radiotherapy at California's Stanford University Medical Centre, where he had had been making a steady recovery from the illness.

 

He left the hospital where he returned to his home in Los Angeles to spend what would be his last days. Swayze recently suffered a mild heart attack and has been battling an intestinal infection. Long-time wife, Lisa Niemi has been by his side throughout his fight with cancer, but the two appear to be accepting the end.
