The announcements were pretty good dude. Have not had full time to go through it all but I will be posting a video with my comments on www.ColderICE.com soon. U know I got some things that will come out as I continue to process it. It was a pretty LONG list of stuff really.
Just read them thru. I just don't see how it's even legal to charge people for a service, but then go "oh, your casual ......poor visibility on site only"
As a sell of vinyl, I am glad to see them pushing for more detailed descriptions. I have run across way to many listings with nothing but the sellers 'Dos and Donts'
Will be interesting to see just how well they inforce some of the changes. Can they and will they walk the walk?

It's pretty clear that the diamond seller experiment has not worked out the way JD&Co thought it would. These marketplace enhancements are designed to attract and keep the small and medium sellers that have been siphoned off to other venues. Clearly the powers-that-be have listened to someone other than the usual list of suspects with MBA's; real sellers with real-world experience have had their say - and their opinions have been noted and acted upon.
I think Usher would like to put his finger in my eye right now! LOL! Probably a good idea to review the already 100 pithy comments on Auctionbytes. No holdbacks there!
Honestly, I think the rush is on, to do a little "damage control" after the earnings reports/analysts critiques..etc..
I'm still of the belief that a future "scale down" and sale of ebay is the directive..
All in all it is what Brian Burke assured me would be positive changes when I spoke with him a month ago.
I think ebay is going in the right direction with these changes and while there are a couple I don't like I do understand their need for the bigger picture... I see more changes in alignment with these coming in the spring.
The meat in this eBay update bucket is not in the announcement, that is all fairy dust being spun, it is four clicks down. I will be entranced to see if this is enforced on the likes of Buy.com. www.tinyurl.com/ljexpm
the new ebay changes are another joke. sellers can not required insurance but, they can add the cost to sale. when anything is built into the sale price, ebay get a cut with their final valuation fee. the new dsr system will cut the number of sellers that will get a discount on their fees and this will happen in a very short time. wake up america, wake up stock buyers, wake up fund managers, wake up wall street analysts, this is just another con by ebay to take money away from the sellers and give nothing back. take away discounts, while talking a good game. most of the changes that ebay has made in the last couple of years, have driven the sellers prices up, there for, costing the buyer more. sellers are making less money, buyers are having to pay more for items. ebay is fooling no one, when all the numbers come in, ebay will be in more trouble than they are now. losing both buyers and sellers to other sites, by the thousands on a daily basis.
Ebay has spun yet another round of smoke and mirrors. Small sellers who feel these changes are good have serious delusions, but I suspect that they will come to their senses come October when they realize that the new rules will only help to further hide their listings from the buying public. Ebay is a dead duck.
i do not see how it can get much worse but, i'm sure it will. my sales are down by a 3rd, my dsr's are high but, my feedback is down by a half. my profits are down by over 50% and ebay says again, that they are trying to benefit the buyers and sellers. they never do anything to benefit anyone but themselves. greed without common business sense! today's ebay.
