There's so much here you could get lost!
Yesterday, I posted the beginning of an interview with Vince from Green Spot Antiques. Here is part 2 of that interview...
Q: How do you feel the overall health of the antiques market is in Canada?
A: For professional business dealers, it is very good. In fact, never better. The buying is very good right now, and with adjusted prices, the selling also. Plus we currently have the widest choice in history of the types of itmes an antiques store can justifiably carry, right up to the 1980's. We have items in our store from 1830 mixed in with retro Deilcraft 1960's dining rooms. It's an exciting time.
For many, especially hobby and part-time dealers, there is a huge shakeout. It would be time they look at other options. We are approached weekly to purchase entire booths or businesses in our trade. Very seldom do they have stock we would carry.
Q: Do you travel to the US for large shows?
A: No, we do not travel much, goes with our GREEN philosophy. We own our building, live upstairs, workshop out the kitchen door. We use our vehicles for occasional pickups or delivery. We seldom attend auctions. We have built a trustworthy local supply chain for our items so they just "walk into the store". We do only ONE show a year, in Barrie, at Kempenfest, and outdoor festival, beer, music, ribs, beach, carnival, etc. 250,000 people to meet and greet. In fact, We just returned from this today, an exceptional show for sales.
Q: In one sentence, what would you like people to know about Green Spot Antiques?
A: Aww.. you knew my other answers were going to be long, Wally, Must've read some of my other posts.
Ok,, We are the original "ULTIMAGE GREEN" source for your busy lifestyle, buying from us, there is no downside for you, us, or the earth, and with our reasonable pricing, your pocketbook either.
